■Tomoki Ohno (CARPE DIEM Hiroo)
IBJJF World Championship Bronze Medal
JBJJF All Japan Championship Winner
He started practicing jiu-jitsu at the age of 6. With a variety of techniques that make use of his body's flexibility, he has won numerous titles, including the IBJJF/PAN KIDS CHAMPIONSHIP, JBJJF/ALL JAPAN CHAMPIONSHIP, and ASJJF/ASIAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. He is one of the most notable young athletes in the jiu-jitsu world, having placed third in the Jiu-jitsu World Championships (Mundial) held in May 2023. Although he is still a high school student, he also coaches the wrestling class at CARPE DIEM Hiroo and the grappling class at Sports Design Lab. In addition to being highly intelligent, he has received high-level coaching since he was a child, and the quality of his programs is well-received. He is currently training hard with the goal of winning the Adult Black Belt World Championship, something that no Japanese man has achieved before.
■ Novelty of the book series
An increasing number of top Jiu Jitsu practitioners are using the knowledge gained from wrestling, the world's oldest combat sport, regarding skills, movement and conditioning, to improve their competitive skills in Jiu Jitsu and grappling.
Tomoki Ohno has been coached in wrestling to improve his jiu-jitsu skills, and has the same level of ability as top-level Japanese wrestlers of his age. He has outstanding wrestling skills and knowledge among jiu-jitsu practitioners, and is considered to be someone who can coach wrestling techniques that can be used in jiu-jitsu and grappling at the highest level.
Because wrestling and jiu-jitsu/grappling use different technical terms, one of the novel aspects of this video is that it is easier to visualize the definitions of terms and positions when coached by a jiu-jitsu practitioner than when coached by a wrestler.
In Vol. 2, "Ankle Picks and Knee Taps," we will provide detailed coaching on the ankle pick and knee tap, which can be used to take down or pass your opponent with low risk when standing .
■ Configuration
It is broadly divided into the following five parts:
(1) Explanation of ankle picks and knee taps (0:00-0:40)
(2) Ankle Pick (0:40-6:20)
(3) Knee Tap (6 :20-9:37)
(4) Knee tap to coincide with the pull (9:27-14:37)
(5) Passing sequence after takedown (14:37-22:19)
This work carefully introduces the techniques of the ankle pick and knee tap, from the setup to the attack, as well as knee taps that match the pull and control after a takedown .
Please take advantage of the online coaching provided by Tomoki Ohno, who is a master of both jiu-jitsu and wrestling at a high level, to improve your competitive ability.
